Yvette Wilson
Yvette Reneé Wilson (March 6, 1964 – June 14, 2012) was a talented American comedian and actress celebrated for her vibrant performances on both television and film. She gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Andell Wilkerson, the friendly shopkeeper in the UPN sitcom Moesha, which aired from 1996 to 2001. Wilson continued her success as Andell in the spin-off series The Parkers from 1999 to 2004, where she played the role of a restaurant owner and close confidante to Mo'Nique’s character, Nikki.
In addition to her television work, Wilson showcased her comedic talents in a number of popular films, including House Party 3 and the cult classic Friday, where she played the memorable character Rita in the 1995 release directed by F. Gary Gray. She also made her mark on the stand-up comedy scene, appearing on Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam, further solidifying her status as a prominent figure in comedy.
Tragically, Yvette Wilson passed away at the age of 48 due to cervical cancer.
