Shobana

Shobana Chandrakumar, commonly referred to as Shobana, is a renowned Indian actress and Bharatanatyam dancer. She gained significant recognition as a leading actress in the film industries of Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Her acting prowess earned her the prestigious National Film Award for Best Actress on two occasions, first for her role in the critically acclaimed film Manichitrathazhu in 1993, and later for her performance in Mitr, My Friend in 2002.

In acknowledgment of her artistic contributions, Shobana was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2006, a testament to her influence and dedication to the field of arts.
