Ma Anand Sheela

Ma Anand Sheela, originally from India, gained international recognition as the spokesperson for the Rajneesh movement, which was founded by the controversial guru, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, also known as Osho. Born on December 29, 1950, in Baroda, India, Sheela became a central figure in the movement during the 1970s and 1980s, known for her charismatic leadership and unapologetic advocacy of the community's radical philosophies.

Throughout her tenure with the Rajneesh movement, Sheela played a pivotal role in establishing the commune in Oregon, USA, where she managed its operations and public relations.
