Sam Willis
Samuel Bruce Adlam Willis is a distinguished British historian, author, and television presenter, currently residing in Devon. He completed his undergraduate studies in History and Archaeology at Exeter University, graduating in 2000. Following this, he pursued a PhD in Naval History at the same institution, where he had the privilege of studying under the esteemed Professor Nicholas Rodger.
In addition to his doctoral work, Willis sought further knowledge in Maritime Archaeology at the University of Bristol, guided by the expertise of Professor Mark Horton. His academic contributions have earned him the position of visiting Fellow in Maritime and Naval History at the University of Plymouth, and he is also recognized as a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries.
Willis has made significant strides in his field, notably as the editor of Navy Records Online, the digital division of the Navy Records Society, which aims to enhance access to naval historical records.
