George R. Hildebrand
George R. Hildebrand hails from Bromley, Kentucky, a quaint town located just across the Ohio River from Cincinnati. Growing up in this idyllic Midwestern community, he enjoyed the benefits of small-town life while being a short bus ride away from the vibrancy of downtown Cincinnati. After completing his education at Bromley Elementary, Turkeyfoot Junior High, and Dixie Heights High School, George initially pursued a career as a Licensed Embalmer and Funeral Director. He graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, completed a two-year apprenticeship, and successfully passed his state board exams, earning the licenses he sought.
However, after five years in the funeral industry in Lexington, Kentucky, George transitioned to a new path as a Union Boilermaker, particularly during the construction of coal-fired power plants. Following six years in that field, he embarked on a significant career shift in 1986 by enrolling in the University of Cincinnati College of Applied Science, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology in 1992. In his engineering career, George specialized in the consumer product sector, contributing to the design of small plastic components for trigger sprayers and pumps, and securing over ten US patents.
After moving from Cincinnati to St. Louis and finally Kansas City, George faced corporate downsizing in early 2014, marking the end of his professional journey. He returned to Cincinnati and embraced retirement. A passionate Vintage Lindy Hop Swing dancer since 2000, George actively teaches and participates in dance events. In 2019, he ventured into acting as a Film Background Extra, gaining experience in short films and commercials, and hopes to expand his role in the film industry.
