Trent Lott

Chester Trent Lott Sr. (born October 9, 1941) is a prominent American lobbyist, attorney, author, and politician, known for his extensive service in the U.S. Congress. Representing Mississippi, Lott was a member of the House of Representatives from 1973 until 1989, before transitioning to the Senate, where he served until 2007. He played a pivotal role in the Republican resurgence in the South, marking a significant shift from a historically Democratic stronghold.
