Carlo Dante Rota, born on April 17, 1961, is an accomplished actor with British, Canadian, and American citizenship. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Yasir Hamoudi, a construction contractor, in the popular series *Little Mosque on the Prairie*. Rota is also well-known for his role as systems analyst Morris O'Brian on the hit FOX show *24*, and as Emilio Solano in *Jane the Virgin*. Additionally, he played the role of informant Mick Schtoppel in the series *La Femme Nikita* from 1997 to 2001.

Throughout his career, Rota has made guest appearances on several notable television series, including *Breaking Bad* on AMC, *NCIS: LA*, *CSI: NY*, *Castle*, *The Mentalist*, *Bones*, *Grimm*, *White Collar*, *Queer as Folk* (US), *Human Target*, *Relic Hunter*, *Adventure Inc.*, *A Nero Wolfe Mystery*, *The Gospel of John*, and *Traders*. Drawing on his diverse background, he also hosted the *Great Canadian Food Show* for CBC television in Canada prior to fully dedicating himself to acting.

In 2008, Rota took on the role of Charles, a journalist for *The Herald*, in the horror film *Saw V*, further showcasing his versatile talent in the entertainment industry.
