Chris Jacobs
Chris Jacobs is a prominent television host and personality, best known for his work on Velocity, where he leads the shows Overhaulin' and Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auctions. His extensive career has also included hosting The Insider and serving as a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight. Recently, he has expanded his repertoire by working with the NFL Network and hosting interactive segments for Chopper Live and Gold Rush Live on the Discovery Channel.
Born and raised in Illinois, Jacobs attended New Trier High School and later Cranbrook School in Michigan. In 1988, he moved to California, where he studied English at Whittier College, eventually earning a bachelor’s degree. He further pursued his education at Western State University College of Law, graduating and being admitted to the California State Bar in 1995.
Jacobs has appeared in various television shows, including The X-Files, CSI, Touched by an Angel, and Two and a Half Men. In 2009, he co-hosted the infomercial for the CarMD diagnostic tool, which won the Moxie Award for Best Long Form of the Year in 2011. He also presented the live telecast of the Miss California USA pageant in 2009.
After leaving Entertainment Tonight in 2013, Jacobs became a weekend presenter for the NFL Network and hosted notable events such as Skywire Live and Skyscraper Live. In 2015, he resumed his role for the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auctions and began hosting Long Lost Family on TLC, further solidifying his status as a versatile television host.
