Amir Khan
Amir Khan, born on December 8, 1986, is a distinguished British professional boxer, promoter, and philanthropist. Renowned for his achievements in the ring, Khan was a unified light-welterweight world champion, holding the WBA title (which he later upgraded to Super) from 2009 to 2012 and the IBF title in 2011. Regionally, he claimed the Commonwealth lightweight title from 2007 to 2008 and secured the WBC Silver welterweight title from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, he also made an impressive bid for a middleweight world title.
Khan's boxing journey began at an early age, and he gained international acclaim as an amateur, winning a silver medal in the lightweight category at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. At just 17 years old, he became the youngest Briton to earn an Olympic boxing medal. He further solidified his status as a boxing prodigy by winning the WBA title at 22, making him one of the youngest British world champions. In 2007, his potential was recognized when he was named ESPN's prospect of the year.
Beyond boxing, Khan is dedicated to philanthropy through his own charity, the Amir Khan Foundation.
