Gary Rhodes

Gary Rhodes (April 22, 1960 – November 26, 2019) was a celebrated English chef and restaurateur, renowned for his passion for British culinary traditions and his iconic spiked hairstyle.

Rhodes gained popularity as a television personality, hosting several cooking shows, including MasterChef UK, MasterChef USA, Hell's Kitchen, and his travel-inspired series, Rhodes Around Britain. In 2006, he showcased his culinary talents by competing in the BBC's prestigious Great British Menu, representing the South of England. He also made memorable appearances on ITV1's Saturday Cooks and the UKTV Food program Local Food Hero, further solidifying his status in the culinary world.

Throughout his career, Rhodes owned four acclaimed restaurants and developed a successful line of cookware and bread mixes, which contributed to his influence on home cooking. His contributions to the culinary arts were recognized when he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) on June 17, 2006.

Tragically, Gary Rhodes passed away at the age of 59 in Dubai, UAE, on November 26, 2019. His legacy continues to inspire chefs and food enthusiasts, reflecting his deep commitment to celebrating British cuisine and his enduring impact on the culinary landscape.
