Juan Bustamante, originally from Nicaragua, grew up in Azusa, California. After completing high school, he made the decision to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. His military career saw him stationed at Camp Pendleton, where he was attached to the U.S. Marine Corps and served honorably during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom from 2002 to 2006.

Following his honorable discharge, Juan transitioned to a career in law enforcement by joining the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). Over the years, he has worked in various divisions, including four years in the Foothill Division and two years in the 77th Division in South Central Los Angeles. His dedication and service have not gone unnoticed; he has received multiple commendations and was awarded the Life Saving Medal for his acts of bravery on the job.

In addition to his law enforcement career, Juan, known as “El Nicoya,” is a passionate professional boxer. He has made a name for himself in the boxing community as a standout amateur, competing with the Camp Pendleton Boxing Team and the LAPD boxing team. Moreover, Juan has also showcased his skills as a bailiff on television shows such as Judge Faith and Divorce Court with Faith Jenkins, blending his love for the law with his vibrant personality.
