Risto Kübar

Risto Kübar, born on December 4, 1983, in the quaint borough of Kose, Estonia, is a distinguished actor known for his work in theater, film, and voice acting. He is the younger brother of renowned sidecar motocross racer Silver Kübar. Risto completed his primary education at Kose Secondary School before pursuing further studies at Tallinn Old Town Educational College, graduating in 2002. He then enrolled at the Estonian Music and Theatre Academy of Dramatic Art, where he honed his craft under the guidance of Priit Pedajas, graduating in 2006 alongside notable peers like Inga Salurand and Lauri Lagle.

Kübar made his theatrical debut at the Estonian Drama Theatre in Madis Kõiv's "Finis nihili." Shortly thereafter, he performed in Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." His professional journey began at Theatre NO99 in Tallinn, where he played in Anton Chekhov's "The Cherry Orchard." He also appeared in George Orwell's "Animal Farm" at Tallinn City Theatre and showcased his talents in the rock opera "Ruja" at Vanemuine theatre in 2008.

Recognized for his remarkable performances, Kübar was named Young Actor of the Year in 2013 for his role in Tennessee Williams' "Orpheus Descends." His international career flourished at Munchner Kammerspiele and later at Belgium's NTGent, where he earned the Arlecchino award for Best Supporting Actor in 2016. Kübar also made a notable film debut in the animated short "Maraton" in 2006 and starred in the 2011 film "Idioot," which adapted Dostoyevsky's classic novel. His innovative style and ability to connect with audiences continue to define his impactful career.
