Dr. Jeff Gardere
Dr. Jeffrey Roger Gardere, born on May 3, 1956, is a distinguished American psychologist and prominent media figure, widely recognized as Dr. Jeff. Following his education at George Washington University, he began his career as a staff psychologist with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, where he eventually ascended to the role of chief psychologist—one of only two African-American individuals to hold such a position during that period. His significant contributions include the development of protocols for the psychological care of HIV-positive inmates and involvement in hostage negotiations during the notable Atlanta Prison Siege in 1987.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Gardere has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry, hosting and contributing to various television programs. He served as the host of VH1’s "Dad Camp" and has been the principal psychologist on reality shows such as "Love & Hip Hop New York" and "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta." His expertise has also been featured on "For My Man," "Celebrity Damage Control," and "They Got Away With It." Furthermore, he has played a vital role as a psychologist on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" and currently works as the aftercare coordinator for "Lauren Lake’s Paternity Court" and "Couples Court with the Cutlers."
In academia, Dr. Gardere is an Associate Professor and Course Director at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York City, where he continues to influence the next generation of healthcare professionals.
