Henry Joost, born on July 25, 1981, is a prominent American filmmaker celebrated for his collaborative work with Ariel Schulman. The duo gained significant recognition with their debut feature documentary, *Catfish*, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and received widespread acclaim, leading to its national release in the fall of 2010. Following this success, Joost and Schulman directed the popular horror sequels *Paranormal Activity 3* and *Paranormal Activity 4*, along with the engaging thrillers *Nerve* and *Project Power*.

In addition to their film work, Joost and Schulman served as executive producers on the television adaptation of *Catfish*. They have directed numerous commercials and short films, including *A Brief History of John Baldessari*, narrated by Tom Waits, which has been featured in over 75 film festivals globally. Their 2011 Google advertisement *Dear Sophie* was honored as Time Magazine's Best Commercial of the Year. The duo has also created several short films for Vogue Magazine, featuring stars like Lena Dunham, Margot Robbie, and Taylor Swift, amassing more than five million views.

Currently, Joost and Schulman are developing multiple projects, including a film adaptation of Edward Abbey's *The Monkey Wrench Gang*, which they are set to direct, with producers Ed Pressman and Gary Burden on board.
