Stephen Stucker was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and later moved to Shaker Heights, Ohio, where he excelled academically and showcased his talents as both a pianist and a class clown. He graduated from high school in 1965 and soon ventured into the world of acting. Stucker made his film debut in the 1975 sexploitation comedy, *Carnal Madness*, portraying Bruce Wilson, a flamboyant fashion designer who escapes from an asylum alongside two other inmates, making for an outrageous adventure at an all-girls school.

He continued to carve his niche in the comedy genre with appearances in notable films such as the 1977 disaster parody *Cracking Up*, featuring a cast that included Fred Willard, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer. That same year, he contributed to the cult classic *The Kentucky Fried Movie*, crafted by the renowned comedy group. However, his most memorable role came in the Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker hit *Airplane!*, where he delivered improvised lines that became iconic. He reprised this character in *Airplane II: The Sequel*.

In addition to his film work, Stucker had guest appearances on TV shows like *Mork & Mindy* and played a role in John Landis's *Trading Places*. Tragically, in 1984, he was diagnosed with AIDS, becoming one of the first public figures to openly discuss his battle with the illness. Stucker passed away on April 13, 1986, at the age of 38 due to complications from AIDS, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of comedy. He is interred at the Chapel of the Chimes.
