Zak Bagans
Zachary "Zak" Bagans is a prominent American figure in the realm of paranormal investigation, known for his roles as an actor, television personality, director, producer, and author. He is best recognized as the lead host of the acclaimed Travel Channel series, Ghost Adventures, which delves into the mysteries of the supernatural.
Born with a passion for storytelling, Bagans graduated from the Motion Picture Institute of Michigan before relocating to Las Vegas, where he pursued a career in documentary filmmaking and explored the world of the paranormal. In 2004, he collaborated with Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin to create a documentary titled Ghost Adventures, which premiered on the SciFi Channel in 2007. This led to the launch of the Ghost Adventures series in 2008, which has captivated audiences for 19 seasons by 2019, despite facing criticism regarding its authenticity.
From 2014 to 2016, Bagans expanded his ghost-hunting empire with a spin-off called Ghost Adventures: Aftershocks, focusing on the lasting impacts of the investigations on participants. In 2016, he debuted Deadly Possessions, showcasing his quest to curate a haunted museum in Las Vegas, which officially opened in 2017 and boasts an impressive collection of eerie artifacts, including Bela Lugosi's mirror and the infamous Dybbuk box.
Bagans' contributions to the paranormal field have been recognized, earning the Las Vegas Mayor's award for historic preservation in 2018. He has authored notable works such as Dark World: Into the Shadows and Ghost-Hunting For Dummies, with the former reaching No. 18 on The New York Times Best Seller list. In 2021, he was set to host and executive produce The Haunted Museum, a horror anthology for Discovery+.
