Kostas Karagiorgis (12 March 1938 – 13 May 1989) was a prominent Greek actor celebrated for his contributions to film, theater, and television. Born in Athens or Andros, he completed his education at Panteion University and the Drama School of the National Conservatory, alongside studying piano. Karagiorgis made his theatrical debut in 1960, quickly establishing himself in the performing arts.

His career spanned various mediums, with notable performances in popular television series such as "En tuto nika," "Kokoromyali," "Dekato trite anakiritiko Office," and "To kanala ton paranomon." He garnered significant acclaim for his portrayal of Captain Hector Psachos in Nikos Foskolos' beloved series "Agnostos polēmos," which solidified his status in the industry.

In addition to his acting prowess, Karagiorgis was married to the talented dancer Stella Livaniou. Tragically, his life was cut short when he passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on 13 May 1989 in Toronto, Canada, while on a professional tour with fellow actor Nikos Papanastasiou. His legacy continues through his son, Nikos Karagiorgis, who not only follows in his father's footsteps as an actor but also serves as the president of the Greek Actors' Union, a position he has held since 18 May 2024.
