Jonathan Neale, born on August 19, 1962, in Woking, Surrey, England, is a prominent British engineer and business leader celebrated for his impactful roles in the automotive and motorsport sectors. He earned his physics degree from the University of Nottingham and is recognized as a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology.

Neale's professional journey commenced at Philips Electronics Defence Systems in 1984, where he focused on electronic semiconductor research and software initiatives. In 1991, he transitioned to BAE Systems as a project design engineer, contributing to a diverse array of projects in both commercial and defense realms, while gaining experience in engineering, production, flight operations, sales, and customer support.

In 2001, Neale made a significant move to McLaren Racing as Operations Director, where he directed various functions such as technical purchasing, planning, manufacturing, and quality assurance. He ascended to the role of Managing Director in 2005, a position he held during the team’s historic 2008 World Championship triumph with driver Lewis Hamilton. By 2016, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer of McLaren Group, overseeing its racing, automotive, and applied technologies divisions.

In September 2021, Neale announced his departure from McLaren, concluding a remarkable tenure. Shortly thereafter, in November 2021, he took on the role of Non-Executive Chairman at Filtronic, a company specializing in RF and microwave equipment.
