Ian Bruce Turpie, born on November 6, 1943, was a multifaceted Australian entertainer whose talents spanned across various domains, including acting, music, and television presenting. Affectionately known as "Turps," he gained widespread recognition as the charismatic host of the popular teen music program, The Go!! Show, which aired from 1965 to 1966. Turpie's engaging style also led him to helm several beloved game shows, most notably The Price Is Right from 1981 to 1985 and again in 1989, as well as Supermarket Sweep from 1992 to 1994.

In addition to his hosting prowess, Turpie showcased his acting skills on television, playing notable roles such as Keith Warne in the comedy series Swift and Shift Couriers in 2008 and 2011, and Wazza, alongside his role as Narrator in the series Housos in 2011. His contributions to the Australian entertainment industry left a lasting impact, and he is remembered for both his vibrant on-screen presence and his musical talents.
