Eddi Reader MBE, born Sadenia Reader on August 29, 1959, in Glasgow, is a celebrated Scottish singer-songwriter and the firstborn of seven siblings. Eddi began her musical journey as a busker on Sauchiehall Street, eventually transitioning to a prominent role as a backing vocalist for renowned artists such as Annie Lennox, Alison Moyet, Billy MacKenzie, and The Waterboys. Her career took a significant turn when she co-founded the band Fairground Attraction, achieving widespread acclaim with their 1988 hit "Perfect."

Following the disbandment of Fairground Attraction, Reader embarked on a successful solo career, exploring various musical styles including pop, folk, and country. Her discography is marked by a series of notable albums that showcase her distinctive voice and songwriting prowess. In addition to her music career, Eddi has also ventured into acting, performing in John Byrne's "Your Cheatin' Heart" and Janice Galloway's "The Trick Is to Keep Breathing" for both radio and theatre.
