Renārs Kaupers, born on September 1, 1974, in Jelgava, Latvia, is a prominent Latvian singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist, celebrated as the frontman of the band Prāta Vētra, internationally recognized as Brainstorm. He completed his journalism degree at the University of Latvia in 1996 and is proficient in multiple languages, including English, Latvian, and Russian. His lineage can be traced back to notable figures, including Baron Friedrich von Stuart and Henrietta Kant, the niece of philosopher Immanuel Kant.

Kaupers rose to fame as the lead vocalist of Brainstorm, which achieved significant acclaim by securing third place at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2000 with the hit "My Star." His talents extend beyond music; in 2001, he was awarded the Latvian Film Prize for Best Actor for his performance as Juziks in the film "Vecās pagastmājas mistērija" (The Mystery of the Old Parish House).

In addition to his musical accomplishments, Kaupers showcased his versatility by co-hosting the Eurovision Song Contest in 2003, alongside Marija Naumova, and the 50th anniversary concert "Congratulations" in Copenhagen with Katrina Leskanich.
