Ingrīda Andriņa
Ingrīda Andriņa (June 23, 1944 – September 17, 2015) was a distinguished Latvian actress known for her compelling performances on stage and in film. Hailing from Riga, she completed her studies at the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography in Moscow in 1967. Following her graduation, Andriņa joined the Latvian National Theatre, where she showcased her remarkable talent.
Her cinematic career took off in 1966, and she gained notable recognition for her portrayal of Agnes von Mönnikhusen in the acclaimed 1969 Soviet Estonian film "Viimne reliikvia," directed by Grigori Kromanov. This role remains one of her most memorable contributions to the film industry, earning her international acclaim.
Over the years, Andriņa showcased her versatility by acting in films across various languages, including Latvian, Russian, Estonian, Azerbaijani, and Georgian. Her final performance was in the 2014 Latvian film "Džimlai Rudis rallallā," which highlighted her enduring passion for acting.
Ingrīda Andriņa passed away unexpectedly in 2015 at the age of 71. She was laid to rest at the Riga Forest Cemetery, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire aspiring actors in Latvia and beyond. Her contributions to the arts are fondly remembered by fans and colleagues alike.
