Adele Mara

Adele Mara, originally named Adelaide Delgado, was born on April 28, 1923, in Highland Park, Michigan. She passed away on May 7, 2010, leaving behind a legacy as a talented American actress, singer, and dancer known for her work in the film industry during the 1940s and 1950s. During her career, she gained notoriety as a popular pinup girl, capturing the hearts of many.

Mara's film career kicked off with a memorable role as a receptionist in the Three Stooges classic, *I Can Hardly Wait*. She went on to showcase her versatility in various films, including *The Vampire's Ghost*, *Wake of the Red Witch*, *Angel in Exile*, *Sands of Iwo Jima*, *California Passage*, and *Count the Hours*, directed by Don Siegel.

In addition to her film work, she made a notable television appearance in 1961 alongside Cesar Romero on *The Red Skelton Show*, where she portrayed Elaine the nurse in a comedic sketch titled "Deadeye & The Alamo."

Mara was of Spanish descent and was married to Roy Huggins, a respected television writer and producer. She also contributed her dancing talents to three episodes of his popular 1957 series, *Maverick*.
