**Mike Reid Biography**

Mike Reid is a distinguished chef whose culinary journey began after graduating from the University of Portsmouth. He relocated to London, where he honed his skills as an apprentice at The In & Out Club in St James's and progressed to the Royal Air Force Club kitchens. His career flourished as he trained under culinary luminaries such as Michel Roux Jr., Simone Zanoni, and Gordon Ramsay at prestigious establishments like Le Gavroche and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay.

In 2007, Reid became part of the Gaucho restaurant team, eventually rising to head chef, where he oversaw operations at both the Richmond and O2 locations before being appointed to lead the entire Gaucho Group. A pivotal moment in his career came in 2013 when he moved to Melbourne, collaborating with renowned chef Ben Shewry at Attica and contributing to Andrew McConnell’s acclaimed restaurant, Cutler and Co.

Upon returning to the UK in 2014, Reid launched M, a restaurant in London, followed by a second location in Victoria Street in 2015. His first cookbook, *M: A 24 Hour Cookbook*, was published in 2016 by Bloomsbury Publishing, and he began showcasing his culinary talents on Channel 4's *Sunday Brunch* and BBC's *Great British Menu*.

In 2017, he opened a third M restaurant in Twickenham and took on the role of overseeing Rare Restaurants, which includes both Gaucho and M. Reid continues to make guest appearances on various culinary programs, sharing his expertise with a wider audience.
