Amanda Wilkin is a talented playwright, actress, and jazz and blues singer-songwriter hailing from London. Her journey in the theater world began in earnest when she participated in the Royal Court and BBC London Writers’ Groups in 2017. Following an extensive tour of HAMLET to 188 countries with Shakespeare's Globe, she penned her debut play, AND I DREAMT I WAS DROWNING, which was showcased at the Talawa Firsts Festival in 2018.

Amanda has continued to make her mark with a series of impactful performances and writings. In early 2019, she presented THE LITTLE SOB at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse during the Dark Night of the Soul event. A year later, she created BESSIE COLEMAN, a piece celebrating the first African American female pilot, featured in the Notes to the Forgotten She-Wolves initiative.

In 2020, Amanda was selected for Audible's Emerging Playwrights Programme, where she is crafting an audio play titled RECOGNITION, exploring the life of the renowned mixed-race composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, in collaboration with 45North Ltd/Ellie Keel Productions. Additionally, she is developing a monologue called THE ECHO, focusing on the rich history of protest songs, which she will also perform.

Her exceptional talent was recognized when she won the prestigious Verity Bargate Award from Soho Theatre in 2020 for her play SHEDDING A SKIN, solidifying her status as a rising star in the arts scene.
