Skylar Grey
Holly Brook Hafermann, better known as Skylar Grey, is a talented American singer, songwriter, record producer, and model hailing from Mazomanie, Wisconsin. At just 17 years old, she embarked on her music career by signing a publishing agreement with Universal Music Publishing Group and a recording contract with Machine Shop Recordings, adopting the stage name Holly Brook. In 2006, she made her debut with the album *Like Blood Like Honey*.
Grey's career took a significant turn in 2010 when she co-wrote the chart-topping single "Love the Way You Lie," performed by Eminem and Rihanna. This collaboration not only showcased her songwriting prowess but also led to her signing with Alex da Kid’s Kidinakorner imprint at Interscope Records. Her second studio album, *Don't Look Down*, was released in July 2013 and enjoyed commercial success, breaking into the top ten in the U.S. and featuring four notable singles. Following this, her third album, *Natural Causes*, was launched in September 2016.
In addition to her solo work, Skylar Grey has collaborated with various artists, lending her distinctive vocals to tracks such as Apathy's "Victim," Fort Minor's "Where'd You Go," Diddy's "Coming Home," Dr. Dre's "I Need a Doctor," Nicki Minaj's "Bed of Lies," and Macklemore's "Glorious." Her contributions have firmly established her as a versatile force in the music industry.
