Anna Dawson

Anna Dawson, hailing from Bolton, Lancashire, spent a portion of her formative years in Tanganyika due to her father's profession. She honed her performing skills at the prestigious Elmhurst Ballet School before furthering her education at the Central School of Speech and Drama. Throughout the 1960s and 1980s, she appeared in popular television series, including "Dixon of Dock Green" and "The Benny Hill Show." One of her most memorable roles came in the beloved sitcom "Keeping Up Appearances," where she portrayed Violet, the affluent sister of Hyacinth Bucket, in the show's final season. Despite her character's limited screen time, she left a lasting impression in four episodes, famously described as "the one with the Mercedes, sauna and room for a pony."

In her personal life, Anna Dawson is married to John Boulter, a former soloist from the renowned Black and White Minstrel Show. Her career has spanned multiple mediums, making her a respected figure in the performing arts.
