Professor Chris Lintott
Professor Chris Lintott’s passion for astronomy ignited during his school years, inspired by the television program *The Sky at Night*. He had the unique opportunity to attend a school equipped with a large telescope, thanks to teachers who entrusted him and his peers with its care. This early exposure deepened his fascination with the cosmos and propelled him to pursue a degree in Natural Sciences at Magdalene College, Cambridge. He later earned a PhD from University College London, focusing on the chemistry of star formation.
In tandem with his academic pursuits, Lintott joined *The Sky at Night* team around the time of his doctoral studies. He began as a researcher and gradually transitioned to a prominent role as a co-presenter and reporter, sharing his insights on various celestial phenomena. Currently, he is a researcher at the University of Oxford, where he leads initiatives to engage the public in astronomical research, including projects for discovering supernovae and classifying galaxies.
Each month, Lintott looks forward to filming segments for the show, where he discusses topics ranging from comets to cosmology, keeping viewers informed about the latest developments in astronomy. His contributions to both education and public outreach have made him a notable figure in the field, bridging the gap between academia and the general public.
