Nikos Tsachiridis

Nikos Tsachiridis (September 9, 1933 – August 3, 2015) was a prominent Greek actor known for his rugged roles in cinema, earning him the reputation of the "tough guy" of Greek film. Born into a challenging environment as a child of Pontic refugees and raised without a father, Tsachiridis faced life's adversities from an early age, shaping his resilient character.

His cinematic journey began with a minor role in the 1954 film "Magic City," directed by Nikos Koundouros. Over the years, he appeared in numerous black-and-white and color films, where he often portrayed secondary characters that embodied strength and toughness. His authentic performances solidified his status as a key figure in Greek cinema's portrayal of gritty masculinity.

In addition to his acting prowess, Tsachiridis was an accomplished footballer, actively participating in the Panhellenic Association of Paid Footballers (PSAP). He also distinguished himself as one of the industry's top stuntmen, showcasing his versatility in the film realm.

Later in life, he resided in Melissia, where he faced health challenges, including Alzheimer's disease. Tsachiridis passed away in 2015 and was laid to rest in the Melissia Cemetery, leaving behind a legacy that continues to resonate in Greek cinematic history.
