Michael Meir Saltzman
Michael Meir Saltzman is a distinguished actor hailing from Washington D.C., where he was immersed in the arts from an early age, thanks to a mother who was a professional actress and singer, and a father who served as a cantor and rabbi. His early forays into performance included musicals and operas, laying the groundwork for a vibrant career in the performing arts. He completed his theatre major at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre from the University of Maryland, College Park.
In Washington D.C., Michael played a pivotal role as a founding member of the Flying V Theatre, along with serving as an artistic associate with the Pointless Theatre Company, both of which were honored with the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Emerging Theatre Company. His versatility as a performer was showcased in numerous productions across the D.C. area, where he also took on roles in directing and sound design.
In addition to his acting career, Michael has imparted his knowledge of improvisation and theatre techniques to students of various ages. He is a proud alumnus of UMD's improv group, Erasable Inc. Furthermore, he co-founded Phatal Records, where he produced tracks for local hip-hop artists such as Blastphumis and Likeblood under the alias DJ Awkward Silence. Michael continues to contribute to the arts both on stage and behind the scenes.
