Carra Patterson hails from St. Petersburg, Florida, where she was born to a young mother at the age of 16. She pursued her passion for the arts at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, subsequently making her mark in off-Broadway theater. Patterson's film career took off with a supporting role in the 2010 romantic comedy-drama, *Why Did I Get Married Too?*. Her Broadway debut came in 2012 with the Manhattan Theatre Club’s production of *Wit*, featuring Cynthia Nixon, which showcased her remarkable talent.

Patterson continued to shine on stage with notable performances in off-Broadway productions including *Luck of the Irish*, *Significant Other*, and *By the Way, Meet Vera Stark*. In 2017, she took on a powerful role in August Wilson's acclaimed play *Jitney*.

Her film accomplishments include a notable appearance in the 2015 biographical drama *Straight Outta Compton*, directed by F. Gary Gray.
