Darrius Garrett

Darrius Garrett is a multifaceted talent known for his work as an actor, author, and one of the original Freedom Writers, whose experiences were the inspiration for the character “Marcus” in the acclaimed film *Freedom Writers*. He is also a New York Times bestselling co-author of *The Freedom Writers Diary*, the book that served as the foundation for the movie.

Garrett honed his craft at El Camino College in Compton, where he studied under the late actor PJ Van Neil in the Theater Arts program.
