Roy Shuler
Roy Shuler, hailing from the quaint village of Harlem, discovered his passion for storytelling at a young age, ignited by the powerful lyrics found in Stevie Wonder's iconic album, 'Songs in the Key of Life.' This early appreciation for the art of expression inspired him to cultivate his public speaking abilities, which later paved the way for his acting career.
Shuler's journey into acting began in 2007 at the age of 42 when he appeared in a regional commercial for a healthcare provider. His breakthrough came just six months later with a principal role in the widely recognized 1-800-JLAW commercial, which aired extensively across the Northeastern United States. By 2012, he made his community theatre debut and quickly secured numerous lead roles.
In a remarkable twist of fate in early 2015, while working as a background actor on the ABC series 'Forever,' Shuler was unexpectedly selected to serve as the body double and stand-in for Oscar-winning actor Cuba Gooding Jr. This opportunity made him eligible for SAG-AFTRA membership, allowing him to further refine his craft. Over the following years, he participated in various theatre productions and worked on numerous network television shows.
By early 2020, Shuler officially joined SAG-AFTRA and achieved his first network co-star credit. A year later, he landed his first commercial roles, showcasing his talent in the industry. Influenced by legendary vocalists Sam Cooke and Frank Sinatra, Shuler continues to evolve as an artist, leaving his mark on the world of acting.
