Jiří Stivín
Jiří Stivín, born on November 23, 1942, in Prague, is a renowned Czech flutist and composer celebrated for his versatility across musical genres. His repertoire spans the Middle Ages, Renaissance, and Baroque periods, showcasing his deep appreciation for historical music. Stivín has collaborated as a soloist with prominent orchestras including the Prague Symphony Orchestra, the Slovak Chamber Orchestra, and the Suk Chamber Orchestra, in addition to performing with ensembles like Barocco sempre giovane.
In addition to his classical endeavors, Stivín has made a significant mark in the jazz scene of the Czech Republic.
