Mardy Ma
Mardy Ma is a talented Chinese actress and entrepreneur, hailing from the rural landscapes of Henan province. She pursued her higher education in Zhengzhou, where she also launched and managed two successful restaurants. Upon completing her studies in 2000, Mardy made the pivotal decision to sell her businesses and relocate to Shanghai. There, she immersed herself in the performing arts at the prestigious Shanghai Theatre Academy while simultaneously investing in various real estate ventures.
In the early 2000s, Mardy took on a significant role as the Asian deal closer and negotiator for Gary Goddard Entertainment, now known as Legacy Entertainment. Her expertise contributed to the development of numerous high-profile theme parks and resorts across China, including the Intangible Cultural Heritage Exposition Park in Chengdu, Haichang Polar Ocean World in Shanghai, and Dream Bund World Studios in Hengdian.
In early 2014, Mardy auditioned in Beijing for a part in the BBC television film "One Child," marking her foray into acting. By 2018, she expanded her creative horizons by co-executive producing the feature film "Anima" (莫尔道嘎) with Enlight Media.
During the Christmas season of 2019, Mardy found herself unexpectedly stranded in Los Angeles as the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded. From 2020 to 2023, she shifted her focus entirely to acting, stepping away from the theme park industry to embrace a full-time career in Hollywood.
