Johnny Bonds
Johnny Bonds is a distinguished former homicide detective renowned for his role on Oxygen's true-crime series, Cold Justice, alongside Kelly Siegler. His law enforcement journey began in 1967, and by the age of 25, he had already achieved the remarkable feat of becoming the youngest detective promoted to the Homicide Division. Over the span of eight years in Homicide, he broadened his expertise by serving in various prominent units, including Fugitive Detail, Internal Affairs, and SWAT.
One of Bonds' most notable achievements was his involvement in solving the harrowing triple homicide of the Wanstrath family in 1979, earning him the nickname "The Cop Who Wouldn’t Quit." After contemplating an early retirement, he realized his passion for policing remained strong, prompting him to return to the field. He took on a role as an investigator for the District Attorney’s office, where he formed a crucial partnership with Kelly Siegler starting in 1989, ultimately becoming her Primary Investigator in the Special Crimes unit.
