Samar Sami, born in Homs, Syria, faced the challenge of losing her father at a young age. Raised by her mother and aunts, she discovered her passion for the arts early on. In 1974, she began her career as a singer in Aleppo, and by 1978, she took a significant step by joining the Artists Syndicate in Damascus. While at the Syndicate, she caught the eye of director Firdous Atassi, who was in search of a young actress for his series "Midnight Dreams." Although she had no prior acting experience, Samar expressed her eagerness to try, leading to her debut in the series. Shortly after, she impressed Haitham Hakki, who cast her as the lead in his production "Al-Waseet."

Samar's career flourished as she participated in numerous television, theater, radio, and film projects across Syria, Jordan, and Egypt. A major highlight came with her role in the film "The Compars," which premiered on July 23, 1994, and solidified her status as a talented actress.

In 2012, Samar publicly expressed her support for the Syrian revolution, offering shelter to displaced families from Homs in her home. Despite her professional accomplishments, she remains unmarried and has no children. Her accolades include winning the Best Actress award at the Arab Biennial in Paris for "The Compars" in 1994 and the "Adonia" award for her performance in the series "Big Dreams" in 2004.
