Bryan Fogel
Bryan Fogel is an accomplished American filmmaker, producer, playwright, author, and human rights advocate, celebrated for his impactful contributions to documentary cinema. He gained widespread recognition for his 2017 film *Icarus*, which earned the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature at the 90th Academy Awards in 2018.
*Icarus* was hailed by critics, with The New York Times calling it "Illuminating" and Variety labeling it "A Game Changing Documentary." The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, where it garnered the U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award, known as "The Orwell Award," and became the recipient of the inaugural "Audience Choice" Award at Sundance London. Following an unprecedented $5 million acquisition by Netflix, it was released globally on August 4, 2017. The revelations made by Russian whistle-blower Dr. Grigory Rodchenkov in the film played a crucial role in the International Olympic Committee's decision to ban Russia from the 2018 Winter Olympics.
