Ed Asner
Edward Asner (November 15, 1929 – August 29, 2021), widely recognized as Ed Asner, was an accomplished American actor whose career spanned film, television, theater, and voice work. He also held the position of president of the Screen Actors Guild. Asner is best remembered for his iconic portrayal of Lou Grant, a character that earned him multiple Emmy Awards, featured prominently in both The Mary Tyler Moore Show and its subsequent series, Lou Grant. In 2009, he lent his voice to the beloved character Carl Fredricksen in Pixar's critically acclaimed animated feature, Up. In early 2011, Asner made a return to television, taking on the role of butcher Hank Greziak in Working Class, marking the channel CMT's inaugural original sitcom. Throughout his extensive career, Asner's contributions to the entertainment industry left a lasting impact, showcasing his versatility and depth as an actor.
