Samantha Fox
Samantha Karen Fox, born on April 15, 1966, in Wood Green, North London, is a multifaceted English pop singer and former glamour model. She first captured public attention at the age of 16 when she began her modelling career, after coming in second place in a Sunday People amateur contest. This led to her iconic debut as a Page 3 model for The Sun in February 1983. By the mid-1980s, Fox had solidified her status as a prominent sex symbol, earning titles such as The Sun's "Page 3 Girl of the Year" for three consecutive years from 1984 to 1986.
Transitioning from modelling to music, Fox released her debut single, "Touch Me (I Want Your Body)," with Jive Records in March 1986. The track soared to the top of the charts in several countries and marked the beginning of her successful music career. Her first three albums—*Touch Me* (1986), *Samantha Fox* (1987), and *I Wanna Have Some Fun* (1988)—each produced hit singles and earned her a nomination for British Female Solo Artist at the 1988 Brit Awards. Although later albums received less commercial success, Fox has remained active in the music scene, with a new album on the horizon.
In her personal life, Fox has navigated relationships with various notable figures and publicly came out as a lesbian in 2003. She had a long-term partnership with her manager Myra Stratton until her passing in 2015 and married tour manager Linda Birgitte Olsen in 2022. Fox's early life was rooted in a working-class family, and she nurtured her passion for performing arts from a young age, attending various theatre schools and forming a pop band during her teenage years.
