Melissa Johnston
Melissa Johnston is a talented actress originally from Canada who now calls the United States home. Growing up in the suburbs of Detroit, she was raised by her mother, a business owner from Canada, and her father, an American steelworker. She shares a close bond with her twin sister.
After completing high school, Melissa took a bold step towards her dreams by relocating to Los Angeles. There, she began her formal training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts before transferring to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, where she graduated in 2009.
Melissa quickly immersed herself in the entertainment scene, performing in regional theater and appearing in various independent short films. Her big break came in the summer of 2009 when she was selected as a spokesmodel for Neutrogena's skiniD campaign, which significantly raised her profile. This newfound recognition helped her secure roles on popular television series such as ABC Family's "Greek" and in major films like Twentieth Century Fox's "Water for Elephants."
In 2010, Melissa landed her first leading role in the feature film "Barely Legal," produced by The Asylum. Despite the film's low budget and her lack of preparation time—receiving the script only on her first day—her performance garnered praise and earned her accolades for outstanding acting. The film's surprising success not only solidified her status in the genre but also opened up numerous opportunities in both acting and modeling.
