Janek Ambros
Janek Ambros is a multifaceted American writer, producer, and director in the film industry. In 2012, he launched Assembly Line Entertainment, a production and financing company responsible for a diverse array of films, including narrative features that have graced prestigious festivals like Venice, Sundance, and TIFF, as well as a variety of documentaries and experimental pieces from around the world.
Among his notable works, Ambros wrote and directed "Le Quinze Mai à Paris," produced by Barbara De Fina, known for her work on acclaimed films like "Goodfellas" and "Casino." He also created "Imminent Threat," a thought-provoking exploration of the War on Terror's effects on civil liberties, which was executive produced by Academy Award nominee James Cromwell. Additionally, he co-wrote and directed the theatrical release "Mondo Hollywoodland," another project under Cromwell's executive production.
His latest endeavor, "Ukrayintsi u Vyhnanni," is a poignant short documentary featuring the personal account of a Ukrainian citizen affected by the Russian invasion. Filmed at the Poland-Ukraine border, this project has garnered significant acclaim, being executive produced by two-time Academy Award winner Janusz Kaminski. It is set to premiere at the Morelia Film Festival and has already won the award for Best Documentary at the 76th Salerno Film Festival, solidifying Ambros's reputation as a significant voice in contemporary cinema.
