One of his most notable performances was as Nelson, the bartender and confidant, in the acclaimed BBC series Life on Mars, as well as in its spin-off, Ashes to Ashes.

Marshall also made significant contributions to the long-running medical drama Casualty, where he played the character Noel Garcia, a receptionist, for an impressive twelve years from 2008 until his character's heartbreaking demise due to COVID-19 in 2020. His versatility as an actor is further highlighted by his portrayal of Chris Jevon, a friend of Rodney, in later episodes of the beloved sitcom Only Fools and Horses, taking over from Steven Woodcock.
