Lila Avilés

Lila Avilés Solís, born in 1982 in Mexico City, is a multifaceted talent in the film industry, recognized as a director, screenwriter, producer, and actress. She gained significant attention with her debut feature film, *La camarista* (The Chambermaid), released in 2018. This film was notable for being Mexico's official entry at both the 2020 Academy Awards and the Goya Awards, marking a pivotal moment in her career.

Avilés pursued her education in Performing Arts and Stage Direction, alongside Film Scriptwriting. Prior to her directorial debut, she showcased her acting skills in several television series, including *El Pantera* (2006), *Fugas del destino* (2010), and *Desenado profundo* (2010). Her journey into filmmaking began with the short film *Deja vu* in 2016, which set the stage for her later successes.
