Best known by his ring name, Drake Maverick, he currently serves as a writer for WWE’s flagship show, Raw. Prior to his tenure with WWE, Curtin gained recognition in Impact Wrestling, where he performed as Rockstar Spud.
Curtin's wrestling journey began in the British independent circuit, where he enjoyed a successful first decade, capturing multiple titles from well-known promotions such as International Pro Wrestling: United Kingdom (IPW:UK), One Pro Wrestling (1PW), Revolution Pro Wrestling (RPW), and XWA Wrestling. His breakthrough came in 2012 when he participated in the TNA program British Boot Camp, emerging victorious and securing a contract with the organization. During his time at TNA/Impact, he distinguished himself by becoming a two-time X Division Champion.
In October 2017, Curtin transitioned to WWE, where he made a notable impact as the on-screen General Manager of 205 Live, a brand dedicated to cruiserweight competitors. He also briefly managed the tag team AOP on Raw. As an active wrestler, he became an eight-time 24/7 Champion. Although he was released in April 2020 due to budget constraints during the COVID-19 pandemic, he continued to compete in the Interim NXT Cruiserweight Championship tournament. Following a strong performance, he was offered a new contract and joined the NXT brand, reaffirming his status in the wrestling industry.
