Christopher Robert Goffey is a prominent English journalist and television figure, celebrated for his role as a presenter on the BBC's motoring television programs. He transitioned to Channel 4 in the mid-1980s, contributing to notable shows such as The Motor Show and Wheeltracks. Goffey's extensive career began in 1965 with several local publications, including the Ruislip Northwood Post, the Buckinghamshire Advertiser (now known as the Buckinghamshire Herald), and the Slough Evening Mail. His journalistic prowess led to his appointment as News Editor in 1975. Following his tenure at Autocar, he took the helm as editor of Motor Trader in 1977.

Known for his composed and pragmatic approach during road tests, Goffey's style was a refreshing contrast to his more flamboyant peers. A memorable moment in his career came in 1996 when Jeremy Clarkson humorously remarked that Goffey's last track experience involved "tearing the tires off an Audi 80." In 2001, he joined Richard Hammond and Brendan Coogan as a presenter on Dream Deals, a motoring series that aired on Men & Motors. Goffey's contribution to automotive media also includes a 45-minute documentary that traced the history of Citroën from its inception in 1900 to the launch of the Citroën C3 Pluriel in 2003, showcasing his expertise and passion for the automotive world.
