Kim Nam-joon, widely recognized as RM, was born on September 12, 1994. He serves as the leader of the globally renowned South Korean boy band BTS and is a talented rapper, songwriter, and record producer affiliated with BigHit Music.

RM launched his solo career with his debut mixtape, titled RM, in 2015. He followed this with his second mixtape, Mono, in 2018, which made history by becoming the highest-charting album by a Korean solo artist on the Billboard 200, peaking at number 26. His official solo debut came in 2022 with the release of his studio album Indigo, featuring collaborations with acclaimed artists like Erykah Badu and Anderson .Paak. Indigo soared to number three on the Billboard 200, marking it as the highest-charting album ever by a Korean soloist. In 2024, RM continued to build on his impressive discography with the release of his second studio album, Right Place, Wrong Person. He has collaborated with numerous artists, including Wale, Younha, and Lil Nas X, showcasing his versatility and broad appeal.

In recognition of his artistic contributions, RM was honored in 2018 with the fifth-class Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit from the President of South Korea, alongside the other members of BTS. Furthermore, in 2020, he attained full membership in the Korea Music Copyright Association, underscoring his significant impact on the music industry.
