Gaspar Varela, the great-grandson of the celebrated fado singer Celeste Rodrigues, developed a deep passion for the Portuguese guitar at an early age, inspired by his great-grandmother's legacy. His aspiration became a reality when he began formal lessons at just seven years old under the guidance of esteemed guitarist Paulo Parreira, soon performing alongside Rodrigues on various occasions.

Despite his young age, Gaspar has made notable contributions to the music scene, having participated in three albums: "Saudade do Futuro," "Brincar aos Fados," and "Vozes de Amália." He draws inspiration from legendary figures in the fado genre, including Artur Paredes, Carlos Paredes, and Jaime Santos. Additionally, he has received encouragement and support from fellow musicians, particularly guitarist Pedro de Castro, who has provided him opportunities to perform at his fado house, Mesa de Frades, located in the heart of Alfama.

The year 2019 marked a significant turning point in Gaspar's career. He released his debut album, "Gaspar," under the label Museu do Fado Discos, achieving a sold-out performance at the CCB auditorium. This success led to an unexpected collaboration with international pop icon Madonna, who invited him to join her for a series of musical events in Lisbon. This connection ultimately resulted in Gaspar being a part of her world tour, "Madame X," further elevating his profile in the music industry.
