Moon Tae-il, known simply as Taeil, is a prominent South Korean vocalist born on June 14, 1994, in Jangan-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul. He gained recognition as the main vocalist for the popular K-pop groups NCT U and NCT 127, contributing significantly to their musical success from 2016 until 2024. Taeil comes from a close-knit family that includes his parents and a younger sister. In his childhood, he aspired to be a zookeeper, but his passion shifted towards music after being inspired by the legendary Stevie Wonder. This newfound ambition led him to pursue a career in singing.

In 2013, Taeil's talent was recognized by scouts from SM Entertainment during a Youth Singing Contest. At that time, he was enrolled in the Music Department at Hanyang University, but after a week of contemplation, he made the pivotal decision to follow his dreams of becoming a singer, ultimately leaving his academic path behind. Throughout his career, Taeil has been celebrated for his vocal abilities and his contributions to the evolving landscape of K-pop, leaving a lasting impact on the industry.
