Liu Jian (simplified Chinese: 刘健; traditional Chinese: 劉健; pinyin: Liú Jiàn), born on November 11, 1969, in Jiangsu, is a prominent Chinese animator and film director based in Nanjing. His journey into animation began after he completed his studies in painting at Nanjing University of the Arts, venturing into the world of animation in 1995.

In 2007, Liu established Le-joy Animation Studio, a pivotal step in his career that allowed him to explore and create unique animated works. His debut feature film, "Piercing I," made a significant impression when it premiered at the Holland Animation Film Festival, showcasing his innovative storytelling and artistic vision.

Liu's second feature, "Have a Nice Day," marked a major milestone in his career, premiering in competition at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival in 2017. The film's critical acclaim culminated in winning the Best Animation Feature award at the 54th Golden Horse Awards, solidifying Liu's reputation in the animation industry.
